The Golf Course at Fairway
Pines Village was awarded 'Best Places to Play' by Golf Digest for the 3rd consecutive
year for 2000 - 2001. As you make your way around the course and experience the
breathtaking beauty surrounding you it is easy to understand exactly why this setting was
acknowledged by the best. Nowhere else can you play golf in a natural terrain of towering
ponderosa and pinion pines, 8,000 feet atop a mountain mesa while deer and elk graze along
side you as you make your way from green to green. |

Fairway Pines is a
semi-private course with special emphasis placed on catering to village members. The Golf
Club offers 'Members Only' events every season such as Ladies Day, Men's Day, Couples
Events, Clinics and a Men's Team Play where members travel to neighboring courses for a
little friendly competition and host a day or two themselves. Fairway Pines is also very
involved with the community and hosts 'Camps for Kids' as well as Junior's Team Play and
much, much more.
Everyone's needs are met at this 18 hole championship golf course. If it is practice you
need we have a 300 yard driving range, chipping and putting green and a full service Golf
Shop, which provides rental clubs and carts. An athletic center sits above the Golf Shop
offering everything from a heated indoor pool to therapeutic massages and all amenities in
between. You can finish out your day with a wonderful dining experience at our restaurant
or lounge which overlooks the most spectacular mountain views in Southwest Colorado.

Signature Holes

Hole No. 4 450 yards,
par 5
Almost a 90-degree dogleg at the landing area is made difficult because of trees lining
the hole. It's hard to cut much distance off at the dogleg and a well-placed trap in the
fairway makes this a good driving hole. Seasoned players who can keep the ball in the
fairway have a good chance of making par or birdie. Practice, practice, practice. |
Hole No. 9 613 yards,
par 5
Play through pinion pines and scrub oak to a well defined landing area. From here the hole
continues rolling to the player's left for a second shot lay up. Your final shot to the
green is hit from a ridge 80 feet above the putting surface. We refer to this last shot to
the green as "The Plunge" after the famous double black diamond ski run at
Telluride Ski Mountain. It may take you a few times playing the hole to determine your
best strategy. |
