The Plum Creek Golf and Country Club is an
18-hole championship golf course (7,107 yards) completed in 1984. Designed by legendary
Pete Dye and PGA Tour Commissioner Deane Beman as a Tournament Players Club (TPC) "STADIUM
COURSE", it hosted the Senior PGA Tour for several years as one of its
regularly scheduled stops. Players like Arnold Palmer, Lee Trevino, Chi Chi Rodriquez,
Gary Player, Sam Snead, and many other current and future Golf Hall of Fame Members
competed every year on one of the best links style courses in the country. Unique to Pete
Dye's creations, the roughs at Plum Creek add color and texture that dramatically contrast
with the manicured bentgrass fairways and greens.
Water hazards enhance the beauty of the Plum Creek Golf and Country Club while influencing
its playability on holes 16, 17, and 18. Pete Dye's signature use of railroad ties and pot
bunkers are evident throughout the course. Multi tee box systems, another Dye hallmark,
help provide a fair test of golf for players of any ability level. In addition, extensive
practice areas add to the superior quality of this remarkable golf facility.
The 33,000 square foot clubhouse features a formal dining room that overlooks the 18th
hole and front range, a casual bar and grill, and a golf shop that provides merchandise
and golf services. Plum Creek Golf members enjoy a variety of amenities, including 18
holes of golf, fitness center, indoor and outdoor golf practice areas, 2 full tennis
courts and 1 practice court, locker rooms, an aquatic and recreation complex, which
includes an outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi.
The community of Plum Creek is enhanced by wide, meandering boulevards and beautiful
landscaped medians, which adds to the private atmosphere that the Club has to offer.
