 The summers are
wonderful at SolVista Golf & Ski Ranch. We seem to have been blessed with our
geography. The sun stays up just a little longer here so you can squeeze more out of the
days if you want to. The wide open space and the big sky just beckon you to come outdoors,
whether it is just a meander through the woods or full on, all out competition, you can be
as busy as you want.
Golf - Our new 18 hole championship
golf course is under construction. The front nine holes opens in summer 2001 and the back
nine is scheduled for 2002. It's links style layout along the river valley and up a draw
will give you a visual feast. The course itself has been carefully designed to fit into
the land and to be a challenge to the expert golfer while going easy on those of us who
are still struggling to break 100. |
Mountain Biking - from
beginner to expert terrain, there's something for every member of the family.
Hiking - the land is so varied you can treck through the forest, slide
through meadows as you catch a glimpse of a deer, an elk or a fox. Or pick your way
through the sagebrush to the area where Ute Indian architects have been found.
Rodeo - at the base of the area a regular rodeo runs most weeks.
Horseback Riding - the word
"Ranch" in the resort name should give you a clue that this is the perfect spot
for riding. We've even got hitching rails planned for just outside the Village so you'll
be able to stop in for lunch or a coffee along your ride. |

Fishing - the Fraser River, well known for its fishing winds its way through the
Ranch. President Dwight Eisenhower came here for the fishing. There's even the remains of
an old cabin that you can hike to that many people claim he stayed at when he visited.
Frisbee golf - it's set up on the ski hill, so not only will you get a
challenge but you'll get a workout.
Nature Photography - If you're not used to seeing lots of animals you'll get
a treat here. You might wake up and find deer in your front yard, or a porcupine or fox
walking right in front of you. There's a large herd of elk that you can often see right
from the golf course.
Enjoying the Sunsets and Sunrises - they are truly spectacular. In the
morning the sun lights up the land and you can watch the hills change color. Or sit on
your deck and watch the sunset fade into dark and the million stars come out. It's really
dark here at night so the stars just seem to jump out at you
not like in the city. |
